There's quite a few IR codes that either 1) aren't included in the default keyboard mapping, or 2) function slightly differently than the keyboard equivalent. Although, oddly enough, I've actually use of the exact same buttons on both of my Gyration remotes at the exact same time, but the remote actually reports that it's sending the command. IMO, the superior way to control XBMC/Kodi with a Harmony One is via MCE IR receiver and the H-1 setup as a MCE device. Honestly, I love my Gyration remotes, which I've been using for years, but they're notorious for just randomly dying. The price makes me shy away from it, but what I want is a remote that is NOT IR and has proper play, pause, stop, previous, next, arrow, OK and back buttons. In what may seem like a bout of pure lunacy, I've actually been looking at the Harmony Elite remote. The Xbox One control works great, but as mentioned, I've had nothing but trouble with Flirc. I'm using it with an Inteset INT-422, which I bought for its Xbox One built-in control capability. However, if the receiver is at the top of the device, it may have a hard time receiving signals. At this point, I have it plugged into a top USB port, so it's clearly visible. maybe the issue is the position of the IR receiver on the Flirc. This would be acceptable, but the problem is that I have to mash the buttons multiple times for them to even work. Add the Flirc FireTV or XBMC/Kodi device to. For example, Play maps to 'P', Stop maps to 'X', etc. Flirc has partnered with Logitech Harmony to provide the best user experience on the best line of remote controls. Plex doesn't have a profile built into Flirc like Kodi does, which means you have to first look up the Plex keyboard commands, and then use the keyboard option in Flirc to map the buttons to the keyboard. I use it with Plex, which is probably my first problem. I decided to try out Flirc, and honestly, I haven't had much luck with it. Of all the places I figure this is where people might have the most similar set up as I do.I'm looking more into this now.

I was running under the suspicion that it was a USB2 vs a USB3 issue where I had the flirc plugged in, but that does not seem to be the case. I can restart the Kodi program and the remote works again right away. I have an app on my phone that controls Kodi even when the harmony remote does not. When I power everything back on perhaps the next day, hardware comes on but the harmony remote does not respond to any button push in Kodi. When I hit the "power off" button, TV, HDMI switcher, and stereo turn off, my computer stays on. When I start Kodi, flirc and the harmony remote work great. The IR emitter is electrical taped to the back of the flirc.
